The third edition of the International Symposium for Languages and Culture took place on March 30 and April 1, 2000 in Rijeka and the surrounding rural areas of the Istrian Peninsula. This was made possible with the generous support of Professor Goran Filipi, dean of the department of Philosophy at the University of Pola. The theme of this edition was: "Istro-Romanian Dialect: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow". Both the guests and the hosts of this scientific event had the chance to communicate with native speakers of the Istro-Romanian dialect. Historians, linguists and sociologists were among the participants at the symposium. On this occasion, the Romanian historian and publicist, Ion Vulpe has launched the first volume from the series entitled "The Martyr - The Future Testament". The book discusses the formation and the christianization of the Romanian people.

Idiomul istroromân: ieri, azi, mâine

Sub generosul patronaj al profesorului Goran Filipi, decan al Facultății de Filozofie de la Universitatea din Pola, la Rijeka și în localitățile rurale din Peninsula Istria (Croația) s-au desfășurat în zilele de 30 martie și 1 aprilie 2000 lucrările Simpozionului internațional al limbilor și culturilor în contact. Cea de-a treia ediție a acestui simpozion a avut ca temă: "Idiomul istroromân: ieri, azi, mâine". Gazdele și invitații au avut prilejul cu ocazia acestui eveniment științific să stea de vorbă cu vorbitorii dialectului istroromân. La simpozion au participat istorici, lingvisti, sociologi. Cu acest prilej istoricul și publicistul român Ion Vulpe a lansat primul volum din ciclul "Martiriul - Viitorul testament," având ca temă formarea și creștinarea poporului român.
